Water and Wastewater Plant Operator

The City of Madison, MN is accepting applications for a Water and Wastewater operator.  This position performs skilled work in the operation of water pumping and treatment plant, and/or sewage treatment, sludge processing and disposal equipment. Responsibilities may include operation and maintenance of wells, pumps, filters, aerators, lagoons, chemical treatment operations, testing of water quality and related operations. WANTED : MAINTENANCE WORKER

Water Distribution Supervisor
 
Moorhead Public Service (MPS) is accepting applications for a Water Distribution Supervisor. This position has the overall responsibility to direct and control staff and equipment of Moorhead Public Service’s water distribution system, and is directly responsible for implementation of the water distribution system’s work plan, productivity, effectiveness, policy enforcement, and ensuring safe working procedures and conditions.

Position In Brief: This position performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a municipal advanced activated sludge wastewater treatment plant and supervises three (3) fulltime staff.

This lead position is responsible for coordinating operations, maintenance and supervision of personnel at the wastewater treatment plant and collection system. Work involves performing laboratory testing, servicing lift stations, assist in budget preparation, maintenance of the collection system, operating and maintaining plant equipment, preparing reports and record keeping tasks and operation of the Lower Power Dam at Lake Mallalieu. This position is responsible for treatment plant operational compliance and reporting requirements of all governing agencies. The Lead Operator serves as the “Operator in Charge” and the plant representative for the DNR. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Utility Director.

Qualifications: Associates degree in Wastewater Treatment Operations, and (4) four years experience in an advanced activated sludge wastewater treatment plant and/or the equivalent combination of experience and education.

Must have Wisconsin Advanced Certification with subclasses A-1 (suspended growth activated sludge), B (solids separation), C (sludge handling), D (disinfection), L (laboratory) and P (total phosphorus removal). Transfers from other States will be accepted but must be completed within 6 months of hire. Note: DNR is changing their certification from a numbered grade to Basic or Advanced certification. Grade 3 or higher is advanced.

Possess a valid driver’s license with CDL and air brake and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
